Although Marathon cannot fully support the usage and/or installation of the Web Photo Gallery plugin for CS4 and CS5, below we are able to provide you with step-by-step instructions.

In order to install this plugin on other computers, there’s a few things to note including:

  • What version of Photoshop you have — CS4 or CS5, 32-bit or 64-bit
  • What kind of operating system (OS) this will be on — Mac or Windows

Once you know this, then you can proceed with the following steps:

Step 1 — Close your Adobe Photoshop application and any Photoshop components including Bridge.

Step 2 — Download the appropriate version of the Optional Plugins preferably to your Desktop area so that you can easily find it to install what you need to. We have the links for both Windows and Mac available here:

CS4
Adobe Photoshop CS4 Optional plug-ins (Macintosh)
Adobe Photoshop CS4 Optional plug-ins (Windows)

CS5
Adobe Photoshop CS5 Optional plug-ins (Macintosh)
Adobe Photoshop CS5 Optional plug-ins (Windows)

Step 3 — You may have to uncompress the file that you’ve downloaded to ensure that you can access the files/folders that they have available.

Step 4 — Please choose the appropriate steps matching the type of computer that you have:

MAC

There are two MAC versions, but the current version of the plugin installation is easy to use. Just do the following:

  • Run the installer package that you had downloaded from the Adobe website. There will be an option to install the plugins — Use this option.
  • Double-click on your Macintosh Hard Drive.
  • Go into the Applications folder, then into the Adobe Photoshop CS5 folder.
  • Look for the Photoshop CS5 application, but don’t run it.  Instead, right-click (or hold down Control and click) on the application, and select “Get Info”
  • Look under the “General” area for “Open in 32-bit mode” and place a check in the box for this.
  • Close out the info box and start up Photoshop. Your Web Photo Gallery should now be installed.

If you have the older set of files for the MAC, you can use these LONG instructions (but most likely, you don’t even need this) :

  • If there is a “Goodies” folder within the files/folders that you’ve downloaded from Adobe, go into this folder first.  In some of the recent versions, this “Goodies” folder doesn’t exist so don’t be alarmed if you do not see this.
  • Go into the “Optional Plug-Ins” folder
  • Go into the “Automate” folder
  • Click one time on the “WebContactSheetII” and copy this into memory using the Command-C key (or right-click on it, and left-click on “Copy”)
  • Double-click on the Macintosh Hard Drive
  • Go into the “Applications” folder
  • Go into the “Adobe Photoshop CS4” or “Adobe Photoshop CS5” folder
  • Go into the “Plugins” folder
  • Go into the “Automate” folder
  • Paste the “WebContactSheetII” file in this folder.

You’re at the half-way point!

  • Let’s go back to the folder that you downloaded from Adobe and look for the “Goodies” folder again (if it exists)
  • Now look for and go into the “Presets” folder
  • Highlight the “Web Photo Gallery” folder and copy this into memory using the Command-C key (or right-click on it, and left-click on “Copy”)
  • Go into the “Applications” folder
  • Go into the “Adobe Photoshop CS4” or “Adobe Photoshop CS5” folder
  • Go into the “Presets” folder
  • Paste the “Web Photo Gallery” folder into this “Presets” folder.
  • Restart Adobe Photoshop.
  • In Photoshop, click on “File”, then “Automate”.  You should now have the “Web Photo Gallery” option.

WINDOWS

Before you continue with these steps, please make absolutely sure to find out what version of Adobe Photoshop you are using.  (Either 32-bit or 64-bit.)

  • Go into the “Optional Plug-Ins” folder
  • Depending on the version of Adobe Photoshop you are using, go into either the “Win32” or the “Win64” folder.
  • Click one time on the “WebContactSheetII” and copy this into memory using the Control-C key (or right-click on it, and left-click on “Copy”)
  • Go into your C: Drive (or whatever drive you have Adobe Photoshop installed on) — I usually do this by going to the Windows Start button, then to “Computer”, then to the “C:” drive.
  • If you are using the 64-bit version, go into the “Program Files” folder.  If you are using the 32-bit version, go into the “Program Files (x86)” folder instead.
  • Go into the “Adobe” folder
  • Go into the “Photoshop CS4″ or ” Photoshop CS5″ folder
  • Go into the “Plugins” folder
  • Go into the “Automate” folder
  • Paste the “WebContactSheetII” file in this folder.

You’re at the half-way point!

  • Let’s go back to the folder that you downloaded from Adobe and look for and go into the “Presets” folder
  • Highlight the “Web Photo Gallery” folder and copy this into memory using the Control-C key (or right-click on it, and left-click on “Copy”)
  • Once again, go into your C: Drive (or whatever drive you have Adobe Photoshop installed on) — I usually do this by going to the Windows Start button, then to “Computer”, then to the “C:” drive.
  • Go into the “Presets” folder
  • Paste the “Web Photo Gallery” folder into this “Presets” folder.
  • Restart Adobe Photoshop.
  • In Photoshop, click on “File”, then “Automate”.  You should now have the “Web Photo Gallery” option.
